Sister Betty Sundry, formerly Sister Maliya, entered religious life from St. John the Baptist Church in Monaca, Pa. She was taught catechism by the Sisters of Divine Providence in Monaca, and from that experience, her vocation to religious life grew and fostered.

Sister Margaret Mertens, formerly Sister Mary, entered religious life in 1953 from St. Stanislaus parish in Wardsville, MO. She credits the Sisters who taught her in school—particularly Sister Mary William Haug, CDP and Sister Mary Ann Haug, CDP (her 7th and 8th grade teachers)—with influencing her decision to enter religious life.
Sister Sandra DeNardis, formerly Sister Mary Jonathan, entered religious life in 1953 from St. Walburga parish in Pittsburgh’s East End neighborhood. She cites her mother’s prayerfulness as one of the influences that led her to becoming a Sister.

Of who most influenced her decision to enter religious life, she says, "I greatly admired and wanted to imitate the Sisters of St. Joseph who educated me; later, the Sisters of Divine Providence with whom I taught school."
Sister Mary Joan Coultas entered religious life from Holy Name Parish in Pittsburgh's Duquesne neighborhood. Of who most influenced her decision to enter religious life, she says, "Sisters Victorine Verosky, Mary Glenn and De la Salle Mahler, as well as the environment, dedication and world view of Divine Providence Academy and its faculty."
Sister Agnes Vogel, formerly Sister Charles Ann, entered religious life from St. Martin parish in Pittsburgh’s West End. She credits the Sisters who taught her at St. Martin's as who most influenced her decision to become a Sister of Divine Providence.
Sister Catherine Frost, formerly Sister Ann Joachim, entered religious life from St. Mary parish in Freeport, Pa. Her father was her greatest influence in deciding to become a Sister. She says, “He loved life and challenged me to find my way, love what I do, and look forward to new challenges—to be surprised at every turn.”
