Sister Louise Angelini, formerly Sister Mary Thomas, entered religious life from Madonna of Jerusalem parish (now St. Juan Diego parish) in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. She credits her parents, her sister, Sister Frances Romana and the Sisters of Divine Providence for influencing her decision to enter religious life. She says, "The longer I am in Community the more I realize I was raised in a family that believed in God's Providence. My parents, particularly my mother, would preface or conclude statements with 'if God wants.' She would say things like, 'Tomorrow we will visit a relative if God wants.'"
Sister Louise earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Duquesne University. She served as an elementary school teacher at St. Martin in Pittsburgh’s West End (1950–53), St. Basil in Carrick, PA (1953–55; 1982–83), Holy Trinity in Pittsburgh (1955–56), St. Walburga in East Liberty, PA (1956–58), St. Mary in McKees Rocks, PA (1958–61), Sts. Peter & Paul in Beaver, PA (1961–65), St. Cecilia in Rochester, PA (1966–69), and St. Anne in Castle Shannon, PA (1969–73). She was principal at Blessed Sacrament in Warren, Ohio (1973–82) and St. John the Baptist in Monaca, PA (1983–92). Sister Louise was a caregiver at St. Anne Day Care in Castle Shannon, PA (1992–93), co-director at Providence Heights (1993–98), and administrative assistant at Providence Childcare Center South in Pittsburgh (1998–2008). Since 2009, Sister Louise has been in prayer ministry and volunteers wherever needed.
Self-described as grateful for family and community, determined and prayerful and concerned about lack of vocation, Sister Louise enjoys reading, puzzles, visiting Sisters and playing cards.
